Kicking off this latest 16 Bit Lolitas EP is the ruthless ‘Re-Murdered’; one of Peter and Ariaan’s new tracks that was showcased on the Anjunadeep:02 compilation, it’s a pitch-black, menacing and atmospheric reinterpretation, driven by screaming, twisted synths and murky basslines. Needless to say, we rate this spine-chilling number just as highly as its equally evil sibling, ‘Murder Weapon’.
‘The Promised Loop’ takes a more minimalist approach on an epic eleven-and-a-half minute, laid-back prog track with some wonderful guitar-led breaks.
‘Global Warmup’ is an unusual, spacey mix loaded with chunky grooves, psychedelic vocal samples and retro synth lines to round off the E.P.

Ariaan (The DJ and Producer who’s been most inspired by his pianist dad) and Peter (The multi instrumentalist and songwriter producer) came together as the 16 BIT LOLITAS in 2003.
As you would expect from such ability it didn’t take long until their early music found homegrown support via releases on Extrema and Cyber as well as remixes of Sander Kleinenberg’s “My Lexicon” and then into international territories with support from Shinichi/Yoshitoshi and CR2.
Musically they sit like a polished stonebetween back in the day backroom house with it’s warm but edgy basslines and brand new big room tunes that give the crowd that tingling hands in the air feel that they so desire. Ariaan’s DJ sets consisting almost exclusively of their own productions, he stands out from the rest of the world’s record changers, by delivering a sound and a set all his own.
They now run their own highly succesful label, “Bits & Pieces”, dedicated to releasing some of the tracks you’ll hear out at their shows as well any up and coming artists they come across in their travels.
